New York, NY – Recently Norwich City FC successfully kicked off their Pass It On football campaign.
Canary supporters worldwide will have the opportunity to demonstrate their love for Carrow Road’s finest by filming themselves wearing the club’s colors (new kit preferably). As stated on NorwichKit.com, the winner of the best video clip will have the opportunity to meet NCFC Director Stephen Fry.
In addition, the top ten clips will be merged together to produce the sequel following the original commercial. It’ll be released in August at the start of the Canaries 2012-13 Premier League season. Not only is this an innovative idea, it’ll be a fun experience for supporters worldwide. Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing the creativity behind the submitted video clips.
For anyone who is reading this, meeting Stephen Fry is an awesome experience. New York City is the one city where the world comes too. From tourist to celebrities, NYC always has visitors who love our fine city.
A few months ago, I had the privilege of meeting Stephen Fry during his book signing at Barnes & Noble. Despite the number of people in attendance, I was the only individual with a NCFC banner. As I awaited my turn, he looked up and saw my banner and shouted, “On The Ball City.”
The people around asked me what he meant by “On the Ball City.” I explained to them that he is a Norwich City director and supporter. As I waited my turn, I sensed those around me were slightly jealous that I was recognized by Stephen Fry himself.
Once I approached him, he asked me why I support Norwich City. I gave him my explanation and he approvingly nodded and smiled. Along with talking about the Canaries draw against Chelsea, he asked me how the other members of the NY Canaries were doing. It was pretty cool that he was aware of our existence.
With other people behind me, I could feel their impatience beaming down the back of my next. In the end, our conversation was brief but impactful. Hey, it’s not often that you get to meet the director of your favorite English club. Along with his wicked sense of humor, it was great to see how down to earth Stephen Fry is.
So, for anyone who wants to meet Stephen Fry, I suggest start filming away.
The closing date for entries is Monday, May 21, 2012.
Thank you and OTBC!
